It is often used when working with you mind. Our minds can't always tell what is real and what is not. When you see a horror movie you will think about it and get scared afterwards(at least some of us do), even when we know it's not real. But the mind doesn't care if it's only imagination or real experience. So if you want to become successful you should first act like one and your mind will belive you are a successful person. Then your mind will work for you. Of course some things are more difficult.
